China emphasizes the importance of discretion in handling national security matters on social media

To protect sensitive security information, the Ministry of State Security in China has urged its citizens not to share data about national security establishments and spy satellites on social platforms. This measure aims to prevent foreign entities from accessing crucial data through online channels, highlighting the increasing significance of space as a strategic domain.

Surveillance of Chinese internet users has reduced harmful speech on platforms like WeChat, Douyin, and Weibo. This response followed an incident in Suzhou city that sparked hate speech against Japanese individuals online. The regulation of these platforms minimized harmful speech, fostering a civil and safer online environment. However, it has sparked discussions on privacy issues and censorship in Chinese cyberspace.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), in collaboration with regulated financial institutions, is working on developing a shared ledger system. This initiative aims to tackle various challenges in international financial markets, including disparate databases and high maintenance costs of individual systems.

Securing China’s national data on social media

A new system could potentially streamline operations across institutions, reduce costs, and enhance Singapore’s position as a global financial center.

India’s recent auction of the 5G spectrum fell short of expectations, with only 26.5% of the spectrum sold. The remaining portions are slated for another auction, although the date has not been announced yet. Speculation surrounding the low bidding points to high base prices and telecommunications companies’ focus on 4G network investments.

Despite minor setbacks, China’s aerospace industry successfully launched a satellite, emphasizing the intricate challenges associated with space operations. North Korea also conducted a hypersonic missile test, showcasing their ongoing advancements. These tests underscore the stringent safety protocols, careful planning, and robust engineering required for such operations. They not only underscore the inherent challenges but also highlight the remarkable progress in space technology.
