A man featured in a video shared by President-elect Donald Trump on Truth Social, advocating for the United States to purchase Greenland, has been identified by local news outlets as a convicted drug offender.
On his social media platform, Trump released a video clip showcasing a robust, bearded individual speaking animatedly at the camera while donning a MAGA hat. “Denmark is exploiting us too much,” he expressed to Trump’s representatives who were filming him following an unexpected encounter. “Purchase us! Buy Greenland! We no longer wish to be subjugated by the Danish government.”
This resonated with Trump, who remarked: “I’ve heard that the citizens of Greenland are ‘MAGA.’ My son, Don Jr., along with several representatives, will be visiting to explore some of the most breathtaking regions and attractions.”
He promised to safeguard the Danish territory against the “cruel outside world,” asserting: “Greenland is an extraordinary place, and the inhabitants will gain immensely if, and when, it joins our Nation. We will protect it and hold it dear against a hostile outside World. MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!”
However, Danish publications cautioned that Trump may want to reconsider, as the individual in the video, Timmy Zeeb, is known to law enforcement for unsavory reasons. According to media sources DR News and B.T., Zeeb is a convicted drug dealer, violent offender, and repeat criminal.
DR News revealed that back in 2009, the unofficial spokesperson for Greenland actually escaped from prison. A decade later, he was convicted in one of the largest cannabis cases in Greenland and sentenced to four years in prison.
In 2018, he was exposed as the leader of a major hashish trafficking operation, with authorities seizing 4 million kroner, which is over $500,000, from him.
Zeeb stated that his criminal history does not hinder his ability to express his views on Trump’s alleged intention to acquire the vast territory situated north of Canada.
Greenlandic police characterize him as a person implicated in “crimes that pose a danger to society.” Although not a criminal act, Zeeb took a jab at Americans in the video, labeling them as “too fat.” This might have been overlooked by Trump due to the man’s pronounced accent.
Trump’s team has been reached out to regarding the video but has yet to respond. This comes on the heels of Donald Trump Jr. arriving in the territory after his father asserted that it was an “absolute necessity” for the United States to gain “ownership and control” over it.
“As someone who’s explored many fascinating locales as an outdoor enthusiast, I’m eager to spend some time in Greenland for a bit of enjoyment this week,” Don Jr. conveyed to Fox News Digital in a report released on Monday. Don Jr. visited the largest island in the world on Tuesday, navigating alongside MAGA supporters, including right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk.
