Donald Trump has referred to his return to electoral success as “72 Days of Fury,” attributing his reinstatement to a surge of national anger.
In an exclusive interview for the ‘Person of the Year’ feature with TIME magazine, the president-elect remarked that his moment of resilience following the assassination attempt on July 13—where he emerged bruised but defiant, fist raised—was pivotal in shifting public sentiment in his favor.
“That moment influenced many people’s perspectives,” he noted.
Trump informed TIME that one of his initial actions post-inauguration on January 20, 2025, will be a presidential pardon for a majority of those involved in the January 6th insurrection.
“This will commence in the very first hour—perhaps within the first nine minutes,” he elaborated.
Additionally, he intends to issue further Executive Orders to recommence the building of the border wall and initiate his proposed strategy for the mass deportation of over 11 million undocumented individuals residing in the country.
Trump further stated that he may summon military assistance if he believes it’s warranted. “The military can be deployed during an invasion of our nation,” he asserted, emphasizing: “I’ll adhere solely to what the law permits, but I plan to utilize the fullest extent of the law.”
Furthermore, he vowed to compel other nations to accept their nationals back. “I will ensure their repatriation to every country, or else we will cease business dealings with them,” he conveyed to TIME.
