On Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump shared his enthusiasm over nominating Charles Kushner to take on the role of U.S. Ambassador to France in his forthcoming administration.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “Charlie is the Founder & Chairman of Kushner Companies, among the largest & most prosperous privately-owned Real Estate enterprises in the Nation.”
Kushner is the father of Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, who is married to Ivanka. He received a pardon from the president-elect in 2020 after being convicted of federal offenses.
Trump also remarked, “Together, we will enhance America’s alliance with France, our oldest ally, & one of our finest!”
The Senate must confirm Kushner’s nomination, which follows Jared’s announcement that he would not be participating in Trump’s next administration.
In 2005, Kushner admitted guilt to 16 felony counts including tax fraud, intimidation of a federal witness, and providing false information to the Federal Election Commission. He spent 14 months in a Federal Prison Camp in Montgomery, Alabama, before transferring to a halfway house in Newark, New Jersey.
