Alex Bruesewitz, a 27-year-old strategist focused on enhancing President-elect Donald Trump’s appeal among younger voters for the upcoming 2024 presidential election, collapsed while speaking at the New York Young Republicans Club Gala. This incident was captured in various videos shared online.
Bruesewitz serves as the CEO of the consultancy X Strategies and was recognized as a notable guest at the prominent conservative event held on Sunday, which also featured addresses from personalities like Steve Bannon and Nigel Farage.
While delivering his speech, Bruesewitz started to slur his words before pausing for nearly five seconds. He then suddenly fell to the ground, prompting startled audience members to shout out.
The precise reason for his collapse was not immediately determined, and both the Trump transition team and Bruesewitz’s consultancy, X Strategies, had not responded to inquiries from the Daily Beast regarding the incident.
Other speakers present reported that Bruesewitz was receiving medical assistance and was alert backstage.
Jack Posobiec, an alt-right commentator, shared on X that he communicated with Bruesewitz following the “short fainting episode onstage,” stating, “All levels are normal.” Posobiec also mentioned, “The only thing he asked was, ‘Did it look cool?’”
President-elect Donald Trump, who later participated in the gala via phone, quickly addressed the situation regarding his young staff member. “I’m confident that Alex will recover, as he’s a resilient individual. There’s no question about it. So I want to send my regards to Alex, as he is truly a remarkable person.”
