The Kremlin has announced that Vladimir Putin will not be attending the inauguration of Donald Trump, scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2025, as reported by the state-owned TASS news agency.
Dmitry Peskov, propaganda mouthpiece/spokesperson for the Russian president, stated on Thursday that no such invitation has been received in Moscow. So much for Trump being a Putin acolyte, as so many of the President-elect’s critics have asserted.
Adding further intrigue, it seems that Chinese President Xi Jinping has been extended an invitation to the inauguration event in Washington, D.C., although it remains uncertain whether he will attend or not.
Additionally, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán (a close European ally to the President-elect) is contemplating his participation, as revealed by a source close to his agenda to CBS News.
Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s transition spokesperson and future press secretary, asserted that the event is one everyone desires to attend. “World leaders are eager to meet with President Trump because they anticipate his return to power and his commitment to reinstating global peace through American strength,” she expressed to CBS.
