On Wednesday, Elon Musk took a jab at Canada’s departing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after Trudeau criticized Donald Trump’s suggestion of making Canada part of the U.S.
In a post on X, Trudeau asserted there “isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell” that his nation would ever join its southern counterpart.
Reacting to this, Trump’s so-called “First Buddy” Musk couldn’t help but throw in a quip. “Girl, you’re no longer the governor of Canada, so what you say doesn’t really matter,” Musk tweeted as a reply to Trudeau’s message. This remark echoed an insult that Trump has been directing at Trudeau—the leader of an important U.S. ally—for several weeks, as the president-elect mockingly referred to Trudeau as the “governor” of “the Great State of Canada” following his visit to Mar-a-Lago last month.
Additionally, Trump claimed on Tuesday at a press conference that he could exert “economic force” to transition Canada into the 51st state of the U.S., leading to Trudeau’s bold public retort.
