Jill Biden, the First Lady, has become a topic of conversation on social media after a group of children joyfully wished her a “Happy Christmas” in response to her “Happy Holidays” greeting during a toy drive at the White House this past Friday.
A video circulating across various social media platforms shows Biden interacting warmly with children at the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots event, alongside Lt. Gen. Leonard Anderson IV.
“Hi, Happy Holidays,” Biden is heard saying in the footage. A child enthusiastically responds, “Happy Christmas,” to which Biden replies, “Happy Christmas, yes,” as more children join in.
This fleeting exchange has gained popularity on X, where several supporters of Trump have claimed that the children were countering the First Lady’s politically correct holiday salutation.
“The kids know the truth. Lol,” one user commented on the video.
“Even the children know that America is back!” another remarked.
The ability to say “Merry Christmas” has become a significant topic among conservatives in recent years, with President Donald Trump often weighing in on the issue.
“And we will proudly say ‘Merry Christmas’ again,” Trump declared during a campaign event in North Carolina back in October.
Beyond the holiday remarks, First Lady Jill took a moment during the toy event to address the children of service members present.
“If you remember just one thing for the holidays, after all the wrapping paper has been put away, let it be this: You are loved. Many people care about you—from your family and friends to your teachers and classmates, and even the president and me,” she stated, as reported by ABC News.
