On Thursday, Elon Musk cautioned legislators at the Capitol that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force would maintain a “naughty or nice” list of those who either support or oppose his efforts to reduce the federal budget.
DOGE, co-led by Musk and former Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy, is anticipated to collaborate with the White House Office of Management and Budget—now led by incoming director Russ Vought, who also served in that capacity during Donald Trump’s initial term.
The majority of participants in Thursday’s Q&A session were from the Republican Party. Florida Representative Aaron Bean informed ABC News that Musk and Ramaswamy emphasized that all potential cuts need to be examined.
Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed to reporters afterward that the session was “exactly what I was hoping for.”
Regarding Musk’s holiday-themed initiative to monitor—and likely encourage—support, she remarked: “I think that would be amazing.”
“There is an enormous amount of waste, fraud, and abuse that we must address, and I will do so with my subcommittee,” stated Greene, who will chair a committee overseeing DOGE’s agenda when the next congress convenes. “I am excited about the prospect of revealing every unelected bureaucrat and every agency that is squandering the taxpayers’ money.”
