Zuckerberg Wants To “Move On” From Cage Fight With Musk

The clash of the (tech) titans is seemingly no more.

Cancel the popcorn! Retrieve the bunting! The purported no-holds-barred cage-match between tech giants Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk won’t happen this month after all, as the former has said that the latter “isn’t serious” about the brawl to end all brawls.

As the world weeps in despair and disappointment, Elon is seemingly still up for it, saying he was “lifting weights, preparing every day for the fight”, the proceeds for which will go to care of military veterans.

Zuckerberg, meanwhile, is an avid practitioner of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and won both gold and silver medals at a Californian tournament this past May.

The idea of two tech billionaires beating the snot out of each other for our delectation started back in June when Meta launched Thread, their rival to Twitter. But weeks after its launch, it was unable to retain users which had fallen to new lows after an initial surge of 100 million sign-ups. Musk’s teasing of this faltering start led to the purported charity cage-match, and suddenly our purpose for existence came into being!

But if Zuckerberg is backing out or is accurate in writing on social media that Musk ”isn’t serious… but if Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me”, then this epic mano a mano for the ages could still be a going concern. Maybe Zuck should arrange for televised screenings/free parties of the match at Google offices, it could certainly entice quite a few employees back after so many are loath to do so now they’ve discovered the joys of remote working since the lockdown.

Either way, let’s hope this magisterial match actually goes ahead ‘cause let’s face it, there’s not much else happening in the world right now…
