WhatsApp is the number one instant messaging app in the world.
This degree of integration that WhatsApp has had in society is due to several reasons, among them all the facilities and abilities it offers to users to communicate and stay in touch with the people they are interested in.
And it is that the app owned by Meta, and sister of others like Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, is much more than a messaging app, as it allows you to communicate with others in many more ways, such as calls, video calls, or voice notes.
But not only that, it also offers other options that also serve to communicate, even if not directly. In this case, we are referring to WhatsApp Status, a function identical to Instagram stories that allow you to upload a photo or video to appear on your profile for 24 hours, after that time they disappear completely.
Until now, users could upload videos to their statuses with a maximum duration of 29 seconds, however, as discovered by WABetaInfo, the company would be working to extend the length of videos to one minute.
Nowadays, the preferred format is video, we have seen how social networks have evolved in this aspect, so it is logical that WhatsApp wants to adapt to this trend and allow you to upload longer videos to your status.
WhatsApp would be testing this change in the beta version of its app and therefore, for now, it is reserved for a select group of users. That means we will have to wait a bit to be able to upload one-minute long statuses, and although it is still a test, it is most likely that it will soon arrive on our profiles.
