It was no secret that Elon Musk was furious about the success of ChatGPT because he was one of the founders of OpenAI, the company that owns the world’s most famous chatbot. Due to his personality, it came as no surprise that he launched his own Artificial Intelligence called xAI with an app called Grok.
It is clear that he did not do this just to try to corner OpenAI, as this technology seems to be the one that will lead the world and therefore everyone wants a piece of the pie, in which there is a lot of money.
But Musk and his particular social justice, apparently did not create this AI for their own benefit alone, as with the intention of teaching OpenAI a lesson and honoring the name with which the company was born a few weeks ago Musk launched Grok with open source code, allowing anyone to take this system and apply it in their own projects.
However, this has not been the latest news from Grok, as we have been able to verify and test firsthand, they have just integrated this AI within X so that users of the social network can try and experience firsthand what it offers.
It is worth noting that this is a beta version of Grok, so its functionalities are limited, but the problem is that when this AI is officially launched, access to Grok will be limited to those who pay a subscription to X Premium+, which costs 16 euros per month or 168 euros if you decide to pay the annual subscription.
How Does Grok Work in Beta Version in X
But for now, while the beta version is available on the web version for free, we can see how Grok will serve us in the future on this platform. Located on the right side of the feed, we can see that there is now a new option called Explore, where we can find a series of headlines on different topics.
If we click on some of them specifically, or if we click on the Show More button, it will show us a list of trending topics within the social network, and by clicking on one of them, the AI will generate a summary of the topic based on the information it collects from other users, and just below this, we will find a series of posts commenting on this topic.
For now, as it is a beta version, it is only available in English, but when it becomes an official tool, it will be available in the language in which you have X set by default. We do not know exactly where Grok gets the information to make these summaries, nor how reliable the information it shares is. In fact, you can read “Grok may make mistakes, verify its results.” at the end of the summary.
At the same time, we have learned that Grok is also part of the company’s efforts to fight and hunt down bot-controlled accounts, an aspect that drives Musk crazy and is a scourge for the world of social media.
