Aside from its stunning aesthetics, the internals of this new creature are impressive. Mercedes-AMG has just unveiled the new top model of its GT series in China, during the F1 GP in Shanghai. The competition technology derived from the F1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas is the basis of the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance.
Hidden inside is a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine and a synchronous electric motor of 150 kW (204 hp), which together generate a power of up to 600 kW (816 hp) and a maximum torque of up to 1,420 Nm. The high-performance battery offers a capacity of 6.1 kWh, 70 kW of continuous power, and 150 kW of maximum power. Charging is done through the 3.7 kW on-board charger installed in an AC charging station, a wallbox, or a household outlet. The battery is designed to supply and consume energy quickly and allows to travel 13 kilometers in purely electric mode.
Among its impressive figures, the new AMG GT 63 S E Performance accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and the maximum speed reaches 320 km/h, making it the fastest AMG model in history. With the right button on the AMG steering wheel, four different recovery levels can be selected. This applies to all driving programs except for the “Slippery” program. At the highest level, it is possible to drive with just one pedal.
With extensive customization options
The interior blends sportiness and comfort. It’s a 2+2 seater that offers ample interior space. The design of the cockpit, up to the vertical screen of the central console, is oriented towards the driver and stands out for its harmonious overall impression.
