Tesla has launched the new Model 3 Performance, with a power of over 460 hp and a range of 528 kilometers, which will be available starting at 55,990 euros from the second half of the year. Among the innovations of this vehicle are the improved chassis, high-performance brakes, and Track Mode Tesla, a unique system in the Model 3 Performance family that allows, among other things, to operate regenerative and traditional brakes in an intelligent way.
In this sense, the track-ready brakes of the new Model 3 Performance come standard with high-performance brake pads, which offer more immediate deceleration and higher thermal and resistance limits. In addition, the adaptive damping technology, a novelty in the Model 3 Performance, is completely controlled through internal software and integrated into Tesla’s Vehicle Dynamics Controller (VDC).
Additionally, the Model 3 Performance also receives a distinctive design compared to other versions. The new front and rear bumpers are complemented by the rear diffuser and carbon fiber spoiler to optimize lift balance and stability at high speeds. Inside, the new sports seats feature improved cushions and side reinforcements, providing more lateral support in curves and dynamic driving. They can also be heated and ventilated. The exclusive carbon fiber finishes of the version help it stand out within the Model 3 range.
Tesla presented this vehicle on the same day it will announce its results for the first quarter of 2024, with expectations not being good, as analysts expect profits and revenues to decline. In parallel with the Model 3 Performance, Elon Musk’s firm is implementing a global price reduction strategy aimed at securing the top spot as the largest seller of electric cars against BYD.
