Technological development has allowed and facilitated, among many other things, listening to music wherever we want, be it at the beach, at work, or in the sky while traveling by plane. Now with our smartphone and headphones, we can take our favorite artists and groups wherever we go, although for this we also depend on platforms or apps like Spotify.

The Swedish music streaming service, Spotify, is undoubtedly the largest music platform in the world, and although there are many other alternatives, in general terms, this option is the most chosen. There are several reasons for this, but among them are the enormous variety of artists, groups, and genres that Spotify offers, as well as the intuitive and easy-to-use design.

However, it is also worth noting that the length of time this app has been around is a determinant of its success, as before streaming services became as popular as they are now, the app was already here, and that has helped a lot in positioning Spotify where it is today.

This app, like many other streaming services, represented a legal alternative to pirate content, because they offered at an affordable price and in a more accessible way the same content. However, in recent years there has been a constant rise in prices, making these services increasingly expensive, and not including new features that respond to the rise in rates.

Now, Spotify has announced a new increase in the price of subscription to its Premium service for the second consecutive year for users in the United States, who will now pay up to three dollars more for the family plan.

It was in July of last year that the company increased the subscription, which went from costing 9.99 euros to 10.99 euros in Spain, and now just a few months later, they are announcing more increases, although for the time being, these will only affect the American country.

In this “price adjustment” for subscribing users in the United States, they will now pay 11.99 dollars per month for an individual plan and up to three dollars more for the family plan, as reported in their blog. Although the company has explained that this increase is limited to Premium users of the platform in the United States, we cannot rule out that in a few months this could be extended to other markets.
