The musical platform Spotify is not satisfied with the current traditional artificial intelligence application to suggest song titles that are in line with the tastes of users. In line with its commitment to technological innovation, the company has begun testing the incorporation of Generative Artificial Intelligence for the creation of personalized playlists by entering ‘promts’ or text instructions in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Among other possibilities, the company’s algorithms will be able to create a selection of songs in response to requests such as “ten songs to listen to on a rainy afternoon,” or musical themes that mix jazz, folk, and flamenco versions, for example. As is customary for the giant of music streaming, innovations in its leading markets end up spreading to other geographies. In this way, it can be expected that the new proposals will reach the Spanish market, once the instructions can be given in languages other than English.

“In the coming months, we expect to continue perfecting this new feature to offer the best service to our listeners,” indicates the world’s largest music store, with over 600 million users. The so-called Ai Playlist is in the testing phase for premium users of the Spotify application on iOS and Android.

As the company explains in its corporate blog, the user can try to gather “sad music to paint dying flowers” or “tracks to ride into the sunset” to get song suggestions that fit the requested atmosphere. “From there, you can easily manage the song selection by previewing and removing them.” It is also possible to “review and refine the playlists you generate by telling AI Playlist what you are looking for (for example, “more pop” or “less cheerful”).
