The German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has recalled approximately 341,000 vehicles worldwide due to a potential fire risk, according to an alert issued on Thursday by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).

The alert published in the KBA database and reported by DPA indicates that the affected models are the GLE and GLS manufactured between 2017 and 2023.

According to this alert, a threaded connection of the terminal of a 48-volt ground cable may have come loose during the assembly process and pose a fire risk. For this reason, it is advised that this connection should be inspected and repaired if necessary.

In Germany, the recall affects more than 11,000 vehicles, although Mercedes-Benz has not yet confirmed or denied the data released by the KBA.
