Mazda has closed the best fiscal year in its history. The Japanese multinational has ended the fiscal year 2024 — which runs from April 2023 to March 2024 — with a profit of 207,696 million yen (1,236 million euros at the current exchange rate), representing an increase of 45.4% compared to the previous fiscal year.

The company’s operating profit has been 250,503 million yen (1,491.8 million euros), a 76.4% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Also, the company’s operating profitability has been 5.2%, which is 1.5 percentage points more compared to the previous fiscal year.

These results have been achieved thanks to the significant increase in sales in North America and Europe. In North America, Mazda has sold 514,000 units, which is a 26% increase compared to the 2023 fiscal year. In fact, North America is the region that contributes the most sales to the Japanese multinational. In Europe, Mazda’s deliveries have reached 180,000 units, equivalent to a 13% year-on-year growth. The results were particularly positive in the three main markets in the region, with 46,000 units sold in Germany (a 23% year-on-year increase), 29,000 in the United Kingdom (an 8% increase), and 16,099 units in Spain (a 17% increase). In fact, Mazda’s Spanish subsidiary closed the 2023 fiscal year exceeding pre-pandemic profits and revenues.

In total, Mazda has sold a total of 1,241,000 vehicles worldwide, a 12% increase year-on-year. It is worth noting the growth of sales in China, where Mazda has sold 97,000 vehicles, a 15% year-on-year increase. Also, deliveries in Japan, the company’s domestic market, decreased by 3%, reaching 160,000 units.

Mazda’s revenue in the 2024 fiscal year reached 4.82 trillion yen (28,751 million euros). This figure represents an increase of 26.2% compared to the previous fiscal year.

Vehicle production has increased by 7.4%, reaching 1,219,000 units.

Forecasts for 2025

For the fiscal year 2025, ending in March of next year, Mazda expects to reduce its profit by 27.7%, to 150,000 million yen.

The company estimates that operating profit will increase by 7.7% compared to the 2024 fiscal year, reaching 270,000 million yen. In terms of profitability, Mazda expects to close at 5%.

Furthermore, Mazda expects revenue to grow by 10.8%, reaching 5.35 trillion yen. In terms of deliveries, the Japanese multinational plans to sell a total of 1,400,000 units throughout the fiscal year, representing a 12.8% increase.
