Israel Sees New Job Vacancies Fall 18% During Wartime

Inevitable consequences after October 7 massacre.

After a “day of infamy” wherein between 1,200-1,400 innocent Israelis were butchered by the genocidal death cult adherents of Hamas, and the subsequent declaration of war by the Jewish state against the Islamist terrorists of that organization, there has been an inevitable and entirely foreseeable decline in economic mobility as the sole liberal democracy in the Middle East again has to fight for its very existence against hostile neighbors bent on its destruction and the extermination of every man, woman, and child therein.

Since the blood-soaked orgy of murder of October 7, Israel has seen a precipitous 18% drop in new job openings, according to the Israeli Bureau of Statistics. In September, a total of 114,274 new vacancies were filled as compared to 93,352 the first week of November.

The immediate mobilization of every applicable Israeli citizen to that nation’s fearsome Defence Forces has inevitably slowed new economic growth in addition to the necessary evacuation of some of Israel’s southern cities that bore the brunt of the genocidal assault in October.

More than 300,000 Israeli citizens have been called up for active service while over 200,000 citizens have been displaced because of the war along not just the southern border but also the northern border with Lebanon as the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist group has fired rockets into Israel since the onset of hostilities.

As a result of Israel – again – having to fight for its right to exist against the forces of naked anti-semitism, almost 19% of the overall workforce are currently not in active employment, around 764,025 people in all.

Some Israeli businesses have remained closed while many parents, fearing for their children’s safety, have withheld them from further school lessons.

Undoubtedly the hardest hit employment sector of the Israeli economy is the hospitality sector, with a precipitous 28% drop in new waiters and bartenders, accompanied by a 24% decrease in hiring for new cooks and chefs.

Ironically, although perhaps not surprisingly, war has seen an increase in the construction sector, with new job openings rising by an astounding 47% as many foreign workers have fled since war began, and the number of new job openings for such skilled professions as plasterers, masons, floor tile workers, and builders jumping since October by over 9%.

It’s a pity that the Islamists of Hamas and Hezbollah are so dedicated to the destruction of Israel, as their own holy book, the Quran, explicitly endorses the creation of the Jewish state where it now lies;

And remember when Moses said to his people, “O my people! …Enter the Holy Land which Allah has destined for you to enter. And do not turn back or else you will become losers.”

— Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:20-107
