Samsung’s SmartThings, a connected living platform, has introduced an array of new updates such as shared routines and an improved device control for a seamless user experience. Samsung’s SmartThings now enables multiple users to manage their devices with ease. The new upgrades aim to promote a more streamlined and connected living experience.

The platform added support for Matter 1.2 to enhance compatibility with various home appliances. Alongside this, advanced security protocols ensure user privacy. The inclusion of virtual assistants increases usability, allowing users to easily regulate their home appliances. With Matter 1.2, users can expect an improved functionality and a comprehensive smart home experience.

Mark Benson, Director of SmartThings US, stated that the new updates demonstrate the company’s commitment to simplify the smart home journey for users. He believes the improvements will significantly enhance the services’ performance and usability. The company also prioritizes user feedback to provide a satisfying, tailored experience. Benson announced these revisions as the initial step to a series of enhancements planned for SmartThings US.

SmartThings rolls out user-friendly smart home updates

A new feature, Shareable Routines, lets users share routine tasks, initiating a smooth transition of everyday tasks. It also allows users to automate task sequences, ensuring every action is executed timely. The feature aims to upgrade the smart home experience while saving time for users.

The novel Hub Manager function has been integrated into the SmartThings application to strengthen smart home reliability. The feature enables managing smart home settings from a unified interface and lets users assign alternate hubs as a backup for greater resilience. This innovation ensures the smooth operation of various home settings, promising uninterrupted service even in the case of initial hub failure. The Hub Manager function affords a flawless smart home experience.

The new Device Control feature extends control over Galaxy devices for users. Added gamification features such as energy level and activity badges encourage power conservation while enhancing user interaction. Users can now manage their Galaxy devices directly from the device dashboard. Thus, overall, the new updates aim to provide a more seamless and sustainable smart home experience.
