Huawei has brought to the market the members of its new flagship Pura 70 series, which inherits the philosophy of the P series with the Ultra Lighting camera to take sharp high-quality shots, while also offering autonomy with high-capacity batteries.

Huawei has renamed its flagship P series, which is now becoming Pura and debuts with the Pura 70 series, recently presented in China. The models Pura 70, 70 Pro, and 70 Ultra are available for pre-order from this Thursday (May 2).

The company has emphasized that its new flagship line inherits innovation in mobile imaging and design from the P series, which arrives with a “renewed attitude” to integrate “mobile photography, aesthetic design, and a unique style.”

The new flagship Pura 70 Ultra adopts a soft relief texture on vegan leather that covers the back of the device, while the lens is surrounded by red rings and the screen edges have a curved design. Pura 70 Pro also features rounded corners, while Pura 70 incorporates a flat edge screen design and a straight frame with narrow edges.

Ultra Lighting Camera

The Pura 70 series introduces a new generation of XMAGE Ultra Lighting camera, which uses Huawei’s new XD motion engine for ultra-fast snapshots and sharp capturing of moving targets at a speed of 300 km/h.

The Pura 70 Ultra model, in particular, is equipped with a large one-inch main lens and a physical aperture of f1.62, with a retractable structure that automatically extends during shooting. It also supports a Sensor Shift OIS of one inch, which improves image stabilization by 67 percent.

The other two models are also equipped with a new generation of the Ultra Lighting camera system. The main camera of Pura 70 and Pura 70 Pro has a large 1/1.3-inch sensor and is equipped with a physical aperture of f1.4. It also features a high-precision and stable sliding guide motor, which increases focus accuracy by 100 percent. In addition, anti-vibration angle has increased by 91 percent, allowing for clear details even in fast snapshot scenarios.

Pura 70 Pro and 70 Ultra are also equipped with the Ultra Lighting Telephoto lens, which offers a periscope telephoto aperture of f2.19 to capture more light and improve image quality. It also features an Ultra Lighting Macro lens, which supports a minimum focus distance of 5 cm for telephoto shooting and a 35X macro zoom.

Huawei has also emphasized that all three models in the Pura 70 series cover a wide zoom range, from wide-angle to telephoto, and that with the front camera, portrait photography “can naturally enhance facial features while showing the true proportions of facial features and accurately restoring the subject’s skin tones” for a natural photograph.

Resistance and Autonomy

All models in the Pura 70 series operate on the new EMUI 14.2 interface and come with a new generation HUAWEI X-True display, with 460ppi, emitting a peak brightness of up to 2500nits, supporting Ultra High-Resolution display technology and AI HDR for high dynamic range visualization. It also supports an adaptive 1-120Hz LTPO frequency rate, which intelligently adjusts according to user needs.

The Pura 70 and Pura 70 Pro models feature Super Durable Kunlun Glass protection, increasing their resistance to accidental drops, while the Ultra model also withstands scratches with Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass, using highly transparent amorphous diamond carbon material.

Huawei has also highlighted the battery capabilities of these three smartphones. Pura 70 comes with a 4,900mAh capacity battery and a 66W fast wired charging system and 50W wireless charging. Pura 70 Pro houses a large 5,050mAh battery, with support for fast charging of 100W via cable and 80W wireless charging, capable of charging up to 50 percent of the battery in 15 minutes. The Ultra model, with its 5,200mAh battery, has 100W fast wired charging and 80W wireless charging.

Availability

Deliveries of Pura 70 and Pura 70 Pro will begin on May 15 while Pura 70 Ultra will start on the 22nd. Huawei has announced a launch offer where purchases made between May 2 and June 3 will receive Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 headphones and a smartphone case as a gift.

Additionally, a coupon will be provided in the following days after purchase to redeem for the Huawei Watch GT 3 46mm Active Black or Huawei Watch GT 3 42mm White smartwatch (valid for use after the launch period).
