Nowadays there are multiple options to hire tourist services online, without the need to leave home. However, not all applications and websites satisfy their users equally.
A survey conducted by the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) on almost seven thousand (6,824) European travelers reveals significant differences in terms of the quality of travel booking websites, such as Tripadvisor, Airbnb, or Trivago.
The survey collects users’ opinions on aspects such as value for money, treatment received, or contracting conditions.
According to their data, Booking is, in addition to being the most popular platform, the best rated by respondents, with a rating of 78 out of 100. “It stands out above the rest for the ease of the payment process, the wide variety of options, and the usability of the website,” highlights the organization.
Close behind are both Skyscanner and Rumbo, both with a score of 77 out of 100. Meanwhile, the last positions in the satisfaction ranking are for eDreams (66 out of 100) and Lastminute (67 out of 100).

Looking ahead to the upcoming summer campaign, OCU advises carefully reading the terms of contracts to ensure that there are no hidden costs for using a certain payment method, nor extra charges for services we consider basic (such as sitting next to the person we are traveling with on the plane), as well as no excessive penalties for early cancellation.
