Every woman wants to look great! I mean, who doesn’t? That’s just a basic rule of the game. And an essential part of looking your very best is the art of make-up. With great make-up, you can radiate beauty, vitality, and youthfulness… and people will notice!
But getting it right, the right colors, the right balance, for the right occasion can be a challenge even in the hands of a skilled and experienced make-up professional artist much less a novice. People study at specialist schools for such knowledge, then spend a lifetime perfecting those skills and talents.

But good news… you don’t have to be a professional or a connoisseur on make-up! We’ve compiled 5 tips on how to create the essential approach to make-up, and by extension, you looking absolutely fabulous!
So break out your brow brushes, powder pads, and lip gloss… and let’s go…
1. CLEAR SKIN, CLEAR CANVAS
The path to great make-up begins with great skincare! You want your skin to be smooth, clear, and clean before you start, so an effective but gentle skin cleanser is your option here. There’s plenty of choices on the market, but try to ensure getting a cleanser that is easy on your skin.
Once that is done, follow it up with a lightweight moisturizer. This ensures your skin doesn’t lose any hydration and remains both soft and supple for whatever you do next. Once you moisturize, always follow up with a good SPF.
Although not essential, it’s recommended by experts that before you begin application, finish your skincare phase with some gentle Water Facial Mist, just to ensure maximum hydration.

2. FOUNDATIONAL FOUNDATION
As any girl will tell you, foundation is the maxime momenti est of good make-up; if you have a good foundation, everything else will follow!
Since your skin is a living, breathing thing, it changes from season to season, meaning you want a good range of variable foundations to choose from, depending on time of year and environmental conditions. That doesn’t mean you have to break the bank with a whole shopful of differing foundations. A combination thereof will not only provide you with the color you want, but sometimes, you might just surprise yourself with a whole new shade you didn’t expect but that looks awesome!
Experiment, try out new ideas, see what happens…
3. BROWSING HISTORY
As you get older, your hair naturally thins out pretty much across the board. This also includes your eyebrows. They can actually tell people a great deal about how old (approximately) you are, and sometimes can make some women look older than they actually are.
If you’re wanting to look youthful with your make-up application, concentrating on good brows is the next logical step. If you’re used to filling in and defining your brows, then a brow pencil is the more logical choice for you. However, if you’re a relative newcomer to brow maintenance, then it’s recommended that you use a powder product. It’s more subtle than a pencil and you get to experiment more easily until you find the resulting look that pleases you.
Just one last thing when it comes to brows; when choosing a shade and you’re trying to decide between two possible options, always go for the lighter one as it’s invariably better, not to mention more practical, to build up a specific shading than overdefine. As always, take your time, see how it looks before any additions.

4. FULLER LIPS FOR A YOUTHFUL FACE
It’s not only your hair that thins as you roll in the years over time! Believe it or not, your lips get thinner as you increase in age as well. So if you’re wanting to keep that look of youthful, vigorous vitality about your face, plumper and fuller lips is always a good place to focus on.
To start with, always use a lipstick that is at least one or two shades deeper than your natural lip color. Why, you might ask? A slighter deeper shade of lipstick will obscure and not highlight any cracks or wrinkles in and around your lips. Accentuate the positive, in other words!
Once you’re done and happy with the shading, finish it off with a little lip gloss – not too much though, be careful – that will instantly plump up the mere appearance of your lips… et voila!
5. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY
They say the eyes are the window to the soul, so you want your eyes looking not just soulful but inviting and magnetic. Some make-up professionals actually recommend you do the eyes first when applying make-up as it easily defines the rest of your face.
The main thing to remember is less is more… simple as that! Just remember you want people to notice your eyes without really noticing them, if you see what we mean. Effective eye make-up can draw someone into your orbit without telegraphing it too excessively. For example, a neutral eye shadow across the lids is proven, time and again, to be the most effective way to highlight not only a face’s best features but also to bring.out your natural eye color.
So that’s it. We hope we’ve given you some useful tips about good make-up… now go look as beautiful as you really are!
