Apple is a reference in smart devices, with the iPhone being the smartphone that the rest of manufacturers try to imitate in one way or another. But the company also has other leading products, perhaps not as much as the iPhone, but still the best on the market.
One of “the others” for which Apple also stands out are its wireless AirPods headphones, which are already on their third generation. Like the rest of the company’s products, these have very high quality performance and finishes, however, the vast majority of people do not know how to make the most of them.
This is because like many other products from the company, they have many functionalities that seem to be hidden and in the case of AirPods, the company has just released a video explaining up to five tricks to improve your experience with these headphones.
1. Share audio with two AirPods
This can be very useful if you are going to watch a series with your partner on the plane, or you are at work and want to share a video with a colleague, this way you will both listen to the audio with your own headphones.
To do this, you have to take the device from which you are playing the music or content, go to the Control Center, tap on the AirPlay icon and choose the Share audio option.
2. Change the name of the AirPods
The definitive method to know which AirPods are yours is to change the default name. This is very simple, as you will only have to go to Settings, enter Bluetooth and tap on the i (information ) of these. You can put any name you want, and even use emojis.
3. Listen to what’s happening around you
Many times we choose to use headphones to escape or disconnect from our surroundings, however, there are occasions when something interesting is happening nearby and we want to find out. Live Listen is a function that allows us to play in our AirPods what the iPhone microphone picks up, and it also works when we have the phone in another room.
To activate this function, you just have to go to Settings, tap on Control Center and add Hearing, then you will have to open the control center again, tap on the ear icon and select Live Listen.
4. Use background noise to concentrate
There are times when for a task we cannot listen to music because we need to concentrate, but at the same time there is noise around us. Here the best option is to take advantage of the ambient sound that these headphones have, whether it’s the sea waves or white noise. The process is the same as before, so you have to go to the Control Center, tap on the ear icon and select this option.
5. Listen to notifications and don’t get distracted by looking at your phone
Notifications are one of the main reasons why we are addicted to phones, and as soon as the screen lights up, we automatically have to see what it is, even if it’s just a promotional email.
What many do not know is that you can have Siri read the notification to you, so you can determine the urgency and importance of the message and the need to pick up the phone or not. To activate it, you just have to go to Settings, tap on Notifications and enable the Announce Notifications tab, you can even choose the notifications from the apps you want.
