Elon Musk and his competitor in the tech sector, Jeff Bezos, made efforts to reconcile on Sunday evening during a candlelit dinner filled with a group of Trump supporters, just prior to the MAGA leader’s inauguration.
A host of Trump’s allies were present at the lavish occasion held at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., where several of his influential associates engaged in friendly conversations before being seated. Following a recent exchange of compliments and Stepbrothers memes on X after Bezos successfully launched a rocket, Musk and Bezos greeted each other with a handshake, aiming to move past their previous rivalries.
Bezos has had his fair share of conflicts with the Trumps over the years, yet he is now making a concerted effort to win favor with the oncoming administration. Within the high-profile gathering, Lauren Sanchez, Bezos’s wife, was seen warmly embracing Ivanka Trump multiple times, likely admiring the beautiful Oscar de la Renta gown she wore.
Jared Kushner, Ivanka’s husband, witnessed all the camaraderie and hurried over to join the interaction, while Neuralink director Shivon Zilis also enjoyed a lengthy conversation with a cheerful Bezos.
Of course, JD Vance and his spouse Usha were in attendance, although they notably did not engage in this specific billionaire gathering. Additionally, Donald Trump Jr. and his partner Bettina Anderson were present, even though there have been claims suggesting that his father is not completely on board with the former party girl.
“Today has been incredibly significant, and tomorrow will prove to be even more monumental,” the President-elect remarked during his address on the eve of what he described as “one of the most pivotal days in our nation’s history.”
He attempted to energize the audience by proclaiming his mantra “make America great again,” vowing to sign approximately 100 executive orders on his inaugural day in office. Furthermore, he expressed plans to utilize the “liquid gold beneath our feet,” pledging to “drill baby drill.”
“We will not squander a single second in fulfilling our commitments to the public,” he stated. The Daily Mail noted that Trump also criticized the Biden administration for labeling his initial term as unsuccessful, which was somewhat uncomfortable given that both individuals are expected to share a limousine to the Capitol for Trump’s inauguration. Trump’s team playfully referenced a White House “EVICTION NOTE” for Biden on X.
Earlier that Sunday, at his Make America Great Again Victory Rally, he discussed various topics including executive orders, immigration, TikTok, the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement, as well as the wildfires in Los Angeles. Musk made a rather awkward appearance on stage at the rally, addressing around 20,000 attendees, while the Village People performed their Trump-adopted anthem, Y.M.C.A.
