The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has labeled the newly unveiled biopic that centers on his initial business endeavors as “a revolting political distortion,” insisting it is crafted by “HUMAN SCUM.”
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump condemned The Apprentice as a “heaping pile of rubbish” and referred to its screenwriter, journalist and author Gabriel Sherman, as “a degenerate and talentless fraud.”
“It’s unfortunate that HUMAN SCUM, like those engaged in what seems to be an unsuccessful venture, are free to express themselves however they wish,” he added.
Trump lamented that the “FAKE and CLASSLESS” production, which has recieved a mixed critical reaction and flopped badly at the box-office since its relase last weekend, was launched to “attempt to undermine the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country, ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’”
The Apprentice, featuring Sebastian Stan as Trump and Jeremy Strong portraying the Republican enforcer and Trump advisor Roy Cohn, has stirred up controversy due to its portrayal of the ex-president sexually assaulting his first wife, Ivana.
Ivana previously used the term “rape” when recounting an episode involving herself and Trump during a deposition from their early ’90s divorce proceedings. She later withdrew the statement, asserting she did not intend it in a “literal or criminal” context, and claimed that she and her former spouse remained “the best of friends.” Ivana passed away in 2022.
“Ivana, my former wife, was a caring and wonderful individual, and I maintained a great relationship with her until the day she died,” Trump stated in his Truth Social post.
Trump’s legal team attempted to prevent the film’s release by sending the filmmakers a cease-and-desist notice after The Apprentice debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
At the very least, Trump will take solace in knowing that his desire for the Ali Abbasi-directed film “to hopefully bomb” has seemingly been fulfilled. The film earned a disappointing $1.6 million during its opening weekend, according to box office projections.
Still, the future biopic of the Clintons will no doubt be as ‘truthful’ as The Apprentice… any bets on who’ll play serial sex trafficker and close friend Jeffrey Epstein? Or Juanita Broaddrick, who actually accused Bill Clinton of rape…!?
We shall see…
