The technology company Busup, which designs mobility programs for businesses, incorporates the services of the carpooling platform Hoop Carpool into its offering with the aim of achieving the “most complete and efficient solution in the market”. This partnership, already available in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Colombia, will combine the potential of shared bus transportation routes offered by Busup with the shared trips of Hoop Carpool, offering solutions for all types of needs for company employees.
Founded in 2016, the technology company Busup allows companies to outsource their mobility services for the transportation of employees to the workplace by bus. It has a network of 170 partner companies in 5 different countries: Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. By the end of 2023, it invoiced 30 million euros, 75% more than the previous year, and moves around 55,000 passengers daily through 2,800 routes in 50 cities. Its customer list already exceeds a hundred companies, with names such as Leroy Merlin, Cognizant, or Ficosa.
On the other hand, Hoop Carpool emerged from the initiative of four entrepreneurs who, with the aim of reducing traffic jams, the cost of transportation in private vehicles, and the pollution generated by these movements, founded this platform of carpooling focused on daily commutes to work.
Rui Stofeel, co-founder and CEO of Busup, says they aim to become a “one stop shop” for corporate mobility. “We had to find a solution that complements our services and that allows us to integrate those passengers who were left out of the routes we design, and in that sense, Hoop Carpool is the perfect ally thanks to its personalized carpooling routes.”
On the other hand, Paloma Martín, CEO and co-founder of Hoop Carpool, has welcomed the partnership, which “perfectly complements the service we offer and will not only be good for both companies, but also for the companies that trust in our services.”
Both companies frame this partnership within the framework of the new Sustainable Mobility Law, which specifically indicates that companies have to design sustainable mobility plans for their employees. “This new regulation supports and encourages our efforts to build a more connected, efficient, and sustainable mobility ecosystem for everyone,” says Eva Romagosa, co-founder and CSO of Busup.
