A large part of WhatsApp’s success lies in the fact that the company is one of the most updated and offers new tools to its users. In this way, Meta listens to the requests of those who use the app daily and tries to adapt the platform and make changes so that the overall experience is much better.
One of the great achievements of the app in recent years was to introduce the Search tool with the aim of giving users the ability to explore chats and groups to find specific messages.
Due to all the conversations and messages we receive every day on WhatsApp, it is more than normal to lose messages or important information, but with this function you just need to type one or several keywords to find the WhatsApp message you are looking for.
For example, if you remember that you asked a friend for the lasagna recipe, but this was several months ago and you want to make it now, you just have to access that friend’s chat and write the word lasagna so that all the messages you have exchanged containing that term appear.
And for a few months now, the company has extended a new functionality to the Search, which consists of searching for messages from a specific date. This way, users can streamline this search by being able to narrow down the times between which the messages were sent, which will help us take less time to find the message we want.
How to search for messages by date on WhatsApp
- Open the conversation where the message you want to find is
- In the upper right corner of the screen, click on the three-dot icon
- Among the options, choose Search
- Enter the word or phrase you want to find and select the calendar icon
- Here the calendar will be displayed, and you will have to select the date by day, month, and year.
This feature is available for both iOS and Android users, and if you do not find it, you should update your WhatsApp app from the official app store.
